Chico We lost Chico today, 1/24/2008. His import band was from NY 1966. We know he had to be over 41 years old. He lived his last year here at the rescue with his best friend Dillon a 2 year old Blue Crown Conure. Poor old Chico used to love to snuggle to the coffee pot every morning and then sat in the window looking out most of the day enjoying the sunshine. In his last year here he got to be a real bird, he never stayed in a cage or had a locked door to hold him back. He will be missed here. He is now resting next to Rainbow bridge here at the rescue.
Emit We lost Emit 11/21/08. He was a wild caught who was well over 30 years old. Emit had a problem at home due to stress so he decided to remove his feathers, most of which had grown back while he was at the Rescue.
Milo Naked for 11 years Sponsored by: Pamela Klekotka, Norridgewock, ME Milo is the victim of an uneducated bird seller who told the owner to use Cedar bedding which is actually poisonous to birds and caused Milo to shed all his feathers. They are growing back! He is Not adoptable because he's a Special Needs bird and a spokesman for the rescue. (See the Humor section)
