Thanks to your continued support, we are coming up on our 10th Annual Memorial Day BBQ. Check out our Events page for more details on the fun & come join us to see what's new for 2008 !

As dreams grow so do we, May 2006 we opened an 8 acre Paradise Parrot Park open to the public. For more info on the park, check out the Paradise Parrot Park page. The park will be open during normal visiting hours. There is no admission charge, but for those visiting the park donations are welcomed.

The park contains a total 17 completed flight areas, 5 under construction with a goal of 26 flights that will house all species of parrots. There will be separate cage areas and garden areas for picnics and viewing birds and their history will be located at each point. There will also be a small camping area available for those wanting to spend the night.

Ground has been broken for the new 26 w x 22 h x 100 long all natural habitat flight. It will contain a 24 foot wide wall that contains a water fall that will empty into a small pond for the birds. This new flight will contain all natural vegetation.

The 24 x 100 green house is now completed. A new well has been drilled and 4700 feet of under ground sprinkler system installed.

Rainbow Bridge pond has completed as well as the bridge. As soon as we hit 250 sold memorial bricks they will be shipped in and installed

This year over 1100 plants, trees and bushes were donated, and have been planted in the park area.

During the construction process of these facilities a great idea was born! To create a memorial park for our beloved feathered family members as well as all breeds and types of animals that have passed and are waiting for us at Rainbow Bridge! Yes, what a wonderful idea and so the concept of Feathered Friends Rainbow Bridge Memorial Walkway was born! For more info, check out the Rainbow Bridge Memorial Walkway on the Paradise Parrot Park page.

Amazon Alley.

Amazon Alley is being built as a retirement community  for Amazon parrots. This area was funded  by The Amazona Society for the preservation of retiring Amazon parrots. There will be 10 flights constructed that will be 12 x 20 x 12 complete with rain showers, toys, free chewing wood, trees, bamboo and assorted other needs to allow them to once again be birds of a flock. There will be studies done to find out any difference in a controlled domestic flock environment verses a wild flock environment. At this time the flights contains 7 species all living great together without any problems.

The Amazona Society (TAS) is an organization of international aviculturists (and companion parrot enthusiasts) with headquarters in the United States of America serving as the voice of companion Amazon parrot owners and breeders.

Our members enjoy participation in a members only Internet discussion group where some of the most dedicated and knowledgeable Amazon aficionados can be found. We'd love to have you join us

Amazon Alley Express

This section will be dedicated to Care, Welfare and Ownership of Amazon Parrots

With the influx of Amazon parrots into the rescue to live in Amazon Alley, we feel it is time to add this new section to the web site as well as a special news letter just for Amazon's. As the new flights are finished and occupied we will be posting new pictures as well as other pictures sent by Amazon owners.

We will be posting E mail addresses in this section for all to ask questions directly with Amazon experts. We will also be posting information here for Amazon owners to try to add some educational information and resources for the green guys.

Last fall we started expanding our rescue/refuge to include affiliated locations all over the continental United States and Hawaii. Please keep checking the Affiliates page to learn of our new affiliates and their locations. We made this decision to accommodate the large number of calls we receive from very distant cities regarding birds in need of rescue. The volume of calls and inquiries have made it impossible for me to travel and pick up all birds in need. By adding affiliated sites, we will be able to accommodate all birds that need new homes.
